In 2019, we were proud to work with Girl Be Heard, a wonderful nonprofit in NYC, that works locally and internationally to develop, amplify, and celebrate the voices of young women through socially conscious theatre-making. Leading up to 2019, Girl Be Heard had recently updated its website and was ramping up its overall communications. But the organization had a growing need: to develop consistent communications targeted towards their donors. To do so, Girl Be Heard applied for and received a Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF) grant and TakeTwo, which has been a consultant for other CCNSF grants, was delighted to work with them!

The timing could not have been better: GBH was in the midst of a leadership transition, and wanted to make sure it would sustain and grow its base of individual donors. Through an analysis of GBH’s communications, listening to its donors, and identifying its core audiences, communications channels and opportunities, we developed a plan that GBH is implementing in 2020. As part of the planning, we developed – in partnership with GBH – a communications campaign for their annual gala, and advised on their end of year appeal.

With new leadership in place, Girl Be Heard is on its way to reaching even more donors who support young people who identify as female, and tell their stories in their own words!
